St Saviour's Church of England Primary School is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is 5-11. It is situated with easy access on Herne Hill Road and is well placed in the local community.

There is a sizeable NUT group, an established rep. We are pleased to state that their performance management exercise has not increased the workload and only three performance objectives are being set, in line with union's recommendations.

Lesson observations are supportive and Ofsted criteria are avoided.

A big 'however'

In the past year or so, the school's governing body altered maternity benefits so as to revert to burgundy book, away from the Lambeth conditions of service. This step was retrogade (and may have been illegal - we cannot judge on this as we are seeking advice). It is important that you are aware of this if applying for any post, as it could amount to only receiving 50% of the benefit you would receive in other Lambeth schools.

The school has its own website that may be accessed via:st-saviours

Using London Grid for Learning to develop a school website and Virtual Staff Room St Saviours in Lambeth have used the LGfL learning platform to host their school website and devolve out curriculum sections of the website to the different year group teachers.

Students explain how it feels to showcase their work on the website. The head teacher explains the impact that the virtual staff room has had on workforce reform initiatives and improved efficiency throughout the school – at all levels
