Glenbrook has been through changes in the last
few years. First of all it became a primary school from separate infants and
juniors, later than other Lambeth schools.
Then Lambeth wanted to build an Academy on its
site, but withdrew after a prolonged campaign
It is now part of a federation and is clearly
going forward with its new leadership. So much so that it was classified as
'good' by the latest Ofsted.
This is just one example how team work,
including local authority support can improve the performance of a school.
Enforced academy status does not.
The union is very strong in the school, most
teachers being in the NUT.
